RCC Accreditation


Rappahannock Community College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate degrees. Rappahannock Community College may also offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels. As one of Virginia’s 23 community colleges, RCC is approved by the Virginia State Board for Community Colleges. The college’s two associate degrees — Arts and Sciences and Applied Science — are approved by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV).

The Associate Nursing Program at Rappahannock Community College located in Glenns and Warsaw, Virginia, is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), 3390 Peachtree Road NE, Suite 1400, Atlanta, GA 30326, (404) 975-5000.

The Associate of Applied Science Degree in Nursing (ADN program) and the Certificate program in Practical Nursing (PN program) are approved by the Virginia Board of Nursing. The EMS Programs, Basic, and Advanced through Intermediate, are accredited by the Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Service. The Rappahannock Community College Paramedic Career Studies Certificate programs are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP).
