MISSION AND OBJECTIVES

RCC's Office of Campus Safety and Emergency Management strives to ensure compliance with State and Federal mandates and standards. We plan and prepare for every significant event and coordinate response efforts within our college community. We oversee and plan Rappahannock’s Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan, safety, evacuation drills, seek resources and collaborate with external partners to maximize our effectiveness as a department. The Department of Emergency Management must interface and formulate plans with various departments and organizations such as emergency services, public health, human resources, information technology, finance and legal, while continuously refining strategic plans with executive management to meet the needs of the organization and college community. RCC is committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment for all members of the College’s community and visitors.
