Dual Enrollment

High school students can take college-level courses at their home high school through RCC’s Dual Enrollment program. Students dual-enrolled receive both college and high school credits prior to high school graduation. Many students earn an Associate degree the same semester they graduate from high school. Students interested in the Dual Enrollment program should follow Steps for Dual Enrollment (PDF).

Benefits of Dual Enrollment

According to the Community College Research Center, dual-enrolled students have a higher likelihood of:

  • Graduating from high school
  • Enrolling in college after high school graduation
  • Pursuing a baccalaureate degree
  • Persisting to completion

Transferability

Dual enrollment courses are offered as a pathway into college or careers. Some classes are designed to transfer to a four-year college or university, fulfilling freshman or lower division course requirements. Other classes are not intended to transfer, but are requirements of a career or occupational certificate or applied science degrees offered at community colleges.
