FAFSA
There are many financial resources available to help you pay for RCC.
The first step is to complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). RCC’s priority deadline for completing the FAFSA is April 15.
Gather the information you need to complete the FAFSA:
- RCC School code is 009160
- Social Security number
- Parents’ Social Security numbers if you are a dependent
- Driver’s License number if you have one
- Alien Registration number if you are not a US citizen
- Federal tax information, tax documents, or tax returns including IRS W-2 information, for you, (and your spouse if you are married), and for your parents if you are a dependent student
- Records of untaxed income, such as child support, interest income, veterans non education benefits
- Information on cash; savings and checking account balances; investments; stocks; bonds; real estate
After you submit the FAFSA, you will receive the FAFSA Submission Summary outlining the information you reported. The FAFSA Submission Summary includes your Student Aid Index (SAI), your estimated eligibility for Federal Pell Grants, work study opportunities, and RCC scholarships. This number is calculated once you have submitted a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and provided any additional document requested by RCC and the Department of Education.
Check your Student Center and To-Do List in SIS regularly for important updates regarding your financial aid.
The FAFSA generally becomes available on October 1 each year. The school year begins in the fall and includes fall, spring, and summer semesters. For example, the 2024-2025 school year includes the fall 2024 semester, spring 2025 semester, and summer 2025 semester.
Additional instructions on how to fill out the FAFSA form, can be found here.
