FAFSA

There are many financial resources available to help you pay for RCC.

The first step is to complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). RCC’s priority deadline for completing the FAFSA is April 15.

Gather the information you need to complete the FAFSA:

  • RCC School code is 009160
  • Social Security number
  • Parents’ Social Security numbers if you are a dependent
  • Driver’s License number if you have one
  • Alien Registration number if you are not a US citizen
  • Federal tax information, tax documents, or tax returns including IRS W-2 information, for you, (and your spouse if you are married), and for your parents if you are a dependent student
  • Records of untaxed income, such as child support, interest income, veterans non education benefits
  • Information on cash; savings and checking account balances; investments; stocks; bonds; real estate

After you submit the FAFSA, you will receive the SAR (Student Aid Report) summarizing the information you reported. The SAR includes your Expected Family Contribution (EFC), your estimated eligibility for Federal Pell Grants, work study opportunities, and RCC scholarships.

Check your Student Center and To-Do List in SIS regularly for important updates regarding your financial aid.

The FAFSA generally becomes available on October 1 each year. Due to changes to the 24-25 FAFSA, it will not be available December 2023. The school year begins in the fall and includes fall, spring, and summer semesters. For example, the 2023-2024 school year includes the fall 2023 semester, spring 2024 semester and summer 2024 semester.

Additional instructions on how to fill out the FAFSA form, can be found here.
