Step 1. Apply to RCC
We are implementing Identity Verification. Please have a valid state ID available when completing the admissions application.
Step 2. Activate your student account (once you’ve received your acceptance notice) myRCC. Login using your student username (listed at the top of your acceptance) and password to activate. If you have any problems, contact our help desk.
Step 3. Set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to secure your account. Click here for more information.
Step 4. Schedule an appointment with the Recruitment and Onboarding Team. Access Navigate on the myRCC student portal to schedule an appointment. If you have difficulty scheduling your appointment, email advisor@rappahannock.edu or call 804-333-6730. Meet the Recruitment and Onboarding Team.
Step 5. Apply for Financial Aid by submitting a FAFSA RCC school code is 009160. Completing a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) determines your eligibility for financial aid and grants. Once you complete the FAFSA you will be able to check your Financial Aid status in your Student Center found in SIS.
Step 6. Find out where to start in Math and English. Complete the Virginia Community College Enrollment survey here.
Step 7. Pay for your classes. You can pay online by logging into myRCC and accessing the Student Information System (SIS). Payment plans and financial aid are available.
Step 8. Complete the New Student Orientation (NSO). Set up a personal account to access the New Student Orientation (NSO); the Online Learning Orientation (OLO); and a variety of student success workshops. We recommend you complete the NSO prior to meeting with your college navigator.
Step 9. Connect with campus resources. RCC has significant academic, financial, and community-based resources for students. Feel free to discuss any with your college navigator or search under Services and Support.
